Episode 879: Wexford Thriller, Galway Tops Out West, Kilkenny Kaput, Cork GPS Mystery
It was a thrilling weekend of GAA action, but the undoubted highlight was Wexford overcoming Kilkenny – and the weight of tortured recent history – in front of a full house in Wexford Park on Saturday night.
Their joint-captain Matthew O’Hanlon joined us on the line to discuss the “not-all-heroes-wear-capes” miracles of Lee Chin, hitting a vital late point, and keeping Davy Fitz off the sidelines for the Leinster final.
There was also action in all 4 provinces for our football analysts Oisin McConville and Mike Quirke to sink their teeth into. And mental fortitude features prominently – can Mayo recover theirs, and do Cork have any to show?
Plus there’s Walt Whitman, barbaric yawps, some thrilling local Wexford commentary, Cork’s GPS mystery, and Murph’s big mouth comes back to bite him on the ass, again.
Could the young lad who ran ????away with the bloodied 17 Cork jersey keep the jersey but return the GPS unit inside please ?Good win too???
