England’s World Cup announcement video suggested the FA are trying to reposition the England brand as more diverse and inclusive. Maybe soon this will be reflected in the stands as well as on the pitch and in the promotional videos.

We also talk about the crazy goings-on at Sporting Lisbon. Could it be that electing a shoot-from-the-lip president and then blaming everything that goes wrong on the conspiracies of your enemies… might not be a good long-term strategy?
50 Sporting Lisbon Ultras broke into the club’s training ground yesterday and attacked the manager and players. ????

Tom Williams joins us to talk about Atletico’s defeat of Marseille in the Europa League final. What is the secret of Spain’s European dominance? Can French football hope for any positive side-effects of PSG’s dominance? And if Griezmann goes to Barcelona, who is going to be pushed out?
Since the start of 2005-06, actually, Spain has won over half of the European trophies. That’s longer than Serie A’s decade of dominance between 1988 and 1998.
