Ken has been catapulted back into studio for our football show this week and he takes a look at how European football essentially rebooted from 1992 onwards after Italia 90 and the change in the back-pass rule.

We talk to Michael Cox about his book ‘Zonal Marking: The Making Of Modern European Football’, which looks at how each major country (besides England) contributed to the evolution of the game, including the Arrigo Sacchi Trapattoni wars, why Catenaccio was overrated, why Italian culture doesn’t fit with their football culture, from Dutch totality to French speed to Spanish systems, to the rise of the individual, to Jose’s blockbuster impact, and on to where we are today with Klopp and Guardiola setting the tone.

Plus there’s rating Zidane as a player, arrogance as a compliment and Klopp slams Barcelona.
