Episode 1528: Ireland Embarrass England At The Home Of Cricket, All-Ireland Semi-Finals Preview, Frances’ TV Guide, Clippers Whoop
Ireland started their first ever Test match against England yesterday morning at 11am, at the home of cricket. Two and a half hours later, they had bowled England out for their lowest ever completed test innings on home soil, 85 all out.
How Ireland managed to do this, at Lords, against a team packed with World Cup winners, is the subject of our chat with Dion Fanning, who was there enjoying one of the truly great days in Irish cricket – and we talk to him about the irrepressible Tim Murtagh, 5-wicket hauls, and memories of his dad.
The All-Ireland hurling championship is down to the last four, and Michael Duignan reckons we’ll be left with a repeat of the Munster final by the time the dust settles on Sunday evening.
Kilkenny/Limerick on Saturday evening, and Wexford/Tipp on Sunday afternoon are the centre-piece of Frances Murphy’s TV weekend, plus there’s honour boards, optometrists, when Ken went to Lords, and a **very** excited basketball team owner.
