Episode 1588: Ireland Labour To 35-0 Win Over Russia, Doubts Persist, Ken’s Rope-A-Dope Theory
Ireland got the train back on track with a 35-0 win over Russia today, but while the bonus point was eventually secured, it still wasn’t a performance to get excited about.
Donnacha Ryan in Paris, and Gerry Thornley in Kobe, give us their immediate first impressions of a display that started well, but which was soon blighted by handling errors, turnovers, and a distinct feeling of lethargy. Jonathan Sexton’s importance to this team has never been more pronounced than it is right now.
