Episode 1700: The Hurling That Survived Storm Dennis, Irish Rugby International Eimear Considine On Facing Mighty England, Trading GAA For Rugby, And Dealing With Tragedy
It was a pretty crazy weekend of weather in Ireland, and yet somehow some hurling went ahead. Wexford/Kilkenny was the pick of the bunch, and we talk to Michael Duignan about what Davy can take from Wexford winning a battle like this against the former market leaders in that area.
And Irish rugby international Eimear Considine is in studio to talk to us about the Tackle Your Feelings app, aimed at teenagers to try and promote mental wellness. She talks to us about facing down the England juggernaut this weekend, losing wunderkind Beibhinn Parsons to her leaving cert commitments, trading the GAA for rugby, and confronting personal tragedy as a teenager.
Plus there’s hurling goalkeepers and their Tom Crean impersonations, playing with the storm in the first half, and the politics of calling a game off.
