Episode 1839: Irish Rugby Returns At Long Last, Murph’s Meddling With Mayo Football, Frances Murphy Tees Up A Massive Weekend Of Sport
This weekend is so jam-packed with sport that you could momentarily forget we’re still in the midst of a global pandemic: from the return of Irish rugby with the first set of interpros to Katie Taylor’s massive rematch with Delphine Persoon to the jewels in the crown – the Europa and Champions League finals.
It’s been a long wait for Irish rugby but its return is finally just around the corner, with Leinster-Munster the perfect opener in an empty Aviva Stadium tomorrow evening. Shane Horgan joins us to talk about the state of the four provinces, whether rugby is declining to ask itself the hard questions about fixture lists reliant at the very least on criss-crossing
the Irish Sea every week and Joey Carbery’s horrible year.

Plus there’s the return of unfortunate rugby lingo, sabotaging Mayo football and the release of ‘Where Is George Gibney?’ next Thursday.

In a scarcely believable show of cruelty, Ken launches an unprovoked attack on Murph today, comparing his (unfortunately televised) performance in the 2007 Galway senior county final to that of RB Leipzig last night
