Episode 1904: Stephen Kenny’s Video, English Bullies And Irish Softies, James Lowe Has It
Just when we thought we were out, the international window had one more surprise in store for us. An unnamed member of the backroom staff had concerns about a motivational video shown to the players before Ireland’s friendly game against England – the FAI are investigating “as a matter of urgency”, but is this all a storm in a colonial teacup?
For what it’s worth, more and more sources say the video was pretty standard. One has just described the whole case to me as “bullshit”. Although some are questioning why bother alluding to history and some aspects like this in a modern dressing room.

There’s also an England-Ireland fixture in Twickenham this weekend. Ireland have been deemed to have been “bullied” by their English counterparts in their last three encounters, but is it as simple as that and can they turn English strengths into weaknesses?
Shane Horgan and Duncan Casey take a look at Ireland’a new halfbacks, James Lowe’s infectious offloading game and why goading Itoje should be part of the gameplan.
