In other, kinder years we might have spent the last fortnight basking in the glow of two Irish wins from two in the opening rounds of the Six Nations instead of anxiously wondering whether Ireland might just slip up this weekend against an Italian side who have already shipped 91 points.

With Andy Farrell naming a strong team earlier today, we’re joined by Andrew Trimble, Shane Horgan and Stuart Barnes to discuss Farrell’s choice to start Sexton and Mike Catt’s comments in the media this week, which seemed to pin a lot of the fault for Ireland’s attack on the players.

And with France-Scotland finally postponed, we look ahead to Wales-England where an Eddie Jones side who seem to be stagnating face a Welsh team who have looked pretty average but have pulled two wins out of the bag with the help of two red cards.

There’s also Champions League chat as the world record for consecutive wins inches closer to Man City’s grasp and there’s the return of Egomaniacs.
