Episode 2175: The No Good Cheatin’ Houston Astros, Duffy v Salah, Did Eoin Mention He Ran A Marathon?
For a game so steeped in dewy-eyed nostalgia, baseball has always been a sure thing when it comes to the emergence of a good-old fashioned scandal.
Last year, Major League Baseball determined that the Houston Astros had illicitly used technology to try and decipher whether opposition pitchers would throw fast balls or curve balls on their way to winning the 2017 World Series. With the Astros back in the World Series this year, we’re joined by friend of the show Howard Bryant to talk about the cheating controversy that still dogs the franchise today.
Fans at Yankee Stadium had the opportunity to boo the Astros in person for the first time since The Athletic exposed the sign-stealing scandal.

You may not have heard but your faithful podcast host and star of the small screen Eoin McDevitt ran a marathon at the weekend, and we have one more eye-witness account of his athletic endeavours.
Getting beaten to the finish line by a man dressed as a novelty fruit appeared to be McDevitt’s lowest moment but then last weekend…..?

The amazing bravery of the survivors Gary mentions was itself defined by Loraine Kennedy, who we dedicated the series to. It feels very poignant that Loraine passed away 2 years ago today. It’s such a pity she isn’t here to witness all the recognition the podcast has received ?? https://t.co/ORjnduTF60
