Episode 2325: Bumper Champions Cup Quarter-Finals Preview, The Yellow Submarine… Sinks?, The End Of History
Munster and Leinster face European Cup royalty in Toulouse and Leicester on Saturday in front of what will be huge crowds at Welford Road and the Aviva. Stuart Lancaster has been plotting away for the last two weeks with his frontline players and Munster are now feeling good about themselves after that win over Exeter, a win away to Ulster, the fans behind their team and clarity on the coaching side of things with the appointment of Graham Rowntree for next season (22.10).
Shane Horgan and Gerry Thornley join us on the World Service today to preview a massive weekend of Champions Cup quarter-finals.
Ken didn’t give the Yellow Submarine much hope against Liverpool on yesterday’s pod, but Unai Emery assured us that last night’s second leg would be different. And, for a not insignificant period of time, he was right. Emery’s history of European success didn’t help him in the end, though, and Ken is still pretty certain that Real’s European history won’t help them tonight either (0.40).
Plus there’s rats at the door and a masterclass in listener emails.
