The Irish women’s European basketball qualifier against Israel goes ahead tomorrow night in the neutral venue of Riga. Yesterday, the Israeli team had a visit from the IDF, and photos were taken of armed soldiers standing with the players. Basketball Ireland have been heavily criticised here but are they just being used as propaganda for the IDF? We discuss the tricky situation the players find themselves in and wonder who should be taking the lead on this?
