In the US of A where you once had to get dressed and board a plane to place a (legal) bet, the opening of the stable door in 2018 has seen the horses gallop out. America has embraced gambling without utilising any of the data available to them from a century of the practice in Ireland, Europe and beyond.
Recent betting scandals in both the MLB and NBA have shone a light on the impact gambling is having on sport and sport ”consumers” in North America. We spoke to Joe Callaghan in Canada.
We also look ahead to tonight’s clash in Metz where Ireland face off against Hervé Renard’s France in a group that contains plenty of fear but much opportunity too.
