Episode 2917: Oisin McConville On Wicklow Heartbreaker, FAI Delay Again, Chelsea Penalty, Jordie Barrett On The Way
Oisin McConville’s Wicklow came agonisingly close to following up their brilliant victory over Westmeath in the Leinster championship last weekend with a win over Kildare on Sunday. Oisin has fronted up and tells us why, despite relegation, he’s seeing a different, better team in Year 2 than he saw last year.
Finally there’s been a move in the FAI’s search for a new Ireland manager. Something had to give, and in the end the FAI have decided to… get someone else to fail miserably at this job. According to media reports we can now expect nothing before the summer, but elsewhere it is reported some within the FAI believe the job is now Chris Hughton’s. So once again, o-one knows anything about this entire process.
Plus there’s Chelsea’s penalty nonsense, Jordie Barrett arriving to help Leinster (and the Meath footballers?), and with that FAI speculation ringing in our ears, we wonder aloud when exactly summer begins.
