It’s been a long tournament for Ken Early – early trains, late nights, games every day, a relentless podcasting schedule to maintain.  Listeners have grown concerned for his welfare, and we (as his superiors) have listened.  We’ve given the man some time to decompress… as long as he joins us on-air after a few beers. And he could hardly have picked a better night to go to the pub.

Gavin Cooney watched Georgia beat Portugal 2-0 to spark unbelievable scenes in Gelsenkirchen, while Turkey eventually saw off 10-man Czechia 2-1 in a fiery, tempestuous, hilarious end to Group F.

We have our last 16 pairings, we have said goodbye to any chance of the FAI being able to hire/afford Willy Sagnol, and we have Ken Early on the 5.1% pilsners.  Podcasting shouldn’t be this much fun.
