Episode 3050: Liverpool Bounce Back, Rice’s Red Tape, Dundalk Lives, Schillaci In Our Hearts
Just eight years ago Dundalk were flying in Europe, winning leagues, playing great football and filling Oriel Park; two days ago they nearly went out of existence. And despite a change of ownership, the club’s future is still far from secure. David Sneyd of the42 and former Shamrock Rovers, Bohs and St Pat’s goalkeeper Barry Murphy join us in studio to discuss how the club could fall so far, so fast, and what it says about the FAI, the LOI and ownership.
Liverpool bounced back from a defeat to Forest and an early goal conceded against Milan to win in some style at the San Siro. Ken puts on his Champions League hat, pulls in his chair and reaches for the microphone.
Totò Schillaci, scorer of that famous goal against Ireland at Italia 90 and golden boot winner at his home World Cup, has died aged 59 after a two year battle with colon cancer. We pay tribute to a man who should be a villain in Irish sport but was and will be forever in our hearts.
Plus there’s Big Jack’s scapegoat, Packie’s parry and Rice’s VAR tape.
