Episode 3055: Casement Parked, 32 County Stadium, Under Gunners Fire, Eoin Outta Love
The Euro 2028 dream is dead for Casement Park in Belfast. It was the new Labour government that finally killed it last week, but much of the blame lies, it seems, with the former Conservative government for slow-walking the project for the last 12 months. Either way, it’s a mess.
Cahair O’Kane of the Irish News joins us to talk about the next phase in the process: does the GAA power on and build the stadium they were going to build in the first place, before all this UEFA talk… or is a bigger re-think now required given the costs involved?
Linfield manager David Healy believes there will be a “sense of frustration and disappointment” following the news that the UK Government will not be funding the redevelopment of Casement Park.#BBCFootball pic.twitter.com/7n1oqABBVc
