Episode 1745: “The Game That Changed My Life” With Kevin McStay, A Pregnant PBESO, Horseplay
Kevin McStay has long been one of the most perceptive pundits in any sport in the country, but his particular brand of studious analysis, and eloquent commentary belies a playing career that touched the very heights.
He won an All-Star in 1985, having scored 1-7 in a losing effort in the Connacht final the year before, and he played a starring role as Mayo got back to a first All-Ireland final in 38 years in 1989.
He joins us today though to talk to us about the game that set all that in motion – a Connacht u-21 quarter-final in 1983 with reverberations he still feels today. He’s a brilliant talker, and we’re delighted to have Kevin McStay as our second guest on “The Game That Changed My Life”.
Plus there’s rugby horseplay, meetin’ Murph and PBESOs from all around the globe – from Krakow (sub-standard), Singapore (good back story), and a truly heroic effort from San Francisco.
