Episode 2311: Two-Time AFLW Winner Ailish Considine Joins Us, Goodbye Dychey, Declan Rice Takes Names
The AFLW is perhaps the world’s foremost recent example of a thriving women’s league, in any sport, and Irish athletes have been to the fore since the league’s inception in 2017. This year saw Ailish Considine become the first Irishwoman to win 2 premiership titles, beating Dublin’s Sinead Goldrick in the final, and with Orla O’Dwyer being named as an All-Australian – the first Irish player to do that since Jim Stynes – it’s been a banner year.
Ailish talks to us about the satisfaction of winning a second title, recent criticisms of the game from home and the tough choices ahead for Irish players.
Plus there’s Sean Dyche’s sorry exit from the Premier League, West Ham’s assault on Europe, and the greatest commentary you’ve never heard.
