Episode 2698: Canada Crush Ireland’s Dreams
Ireland are out of the World Cup after losing 2-1 to Canada in Perth.
It was all going so well until first-half injury time, when Canada equalised through Megan Connolly’s unfortunate own-goal.
The second followed early in the second half, and Katie McCabe raged in vain against the dying of the light.
Sinead O’Carroll joins us from Perth, and Joe Callaghan from Canada, to analyse the game. What positives can we clutch at after early elimination? What about the negatives? And do they expect Monday’s game against Nigeria to be Vera Pauw’s last in charge of the Irish team?
