Episode 2727: End Of A Vera, Synth Ribbing, Telling Tiger
Vera Pauw led Ireland to their first-ever Women’s World Cup. Last night, after a six-hour board meeting, the FAI told her that her contract would not be renewed.
Karen Duggan and Gavin Cooney join us to talk about the reasons for the FAI decision. Have they made the right call? Where did it go wrong for Pauw? Why wasn’t her apparently-successful record good enough to earn her a new contract? Has she been a victim of player-power? And what kind of coach should Ireland be looking for next?
Plus there’s some synth ribbing, telling Tiger and Big Ev’s snub.
