Irish sport seems to get a lot of fourth place finishes – sometimes that’s an amazing achievement, and it was tonight, but that doesn’t make them anymore heartbreaking, and this was one of the toughest to take. Sinead O’Carroll of The 42 and Malachy Clerkin of the Irish Times dial in From the Stade de France . As the medal ceremony cruelly takes place in the background they reflect on her performance, try to talk Eoin around from his bleak despair and look ahead to tomorrow’s Rhasidat fuelled relay final.
