Episode 3026: Michael Darragh Macauley’s Sanctuary, Chelsea Smiles, Sinner Fails Tests
Michael Darragh Macauley has won EIGHT Senior All-Ireland titles and yet there’s no bronze statue in Ballyboden? We get Hill 16 resident Branno to pay respect to a Dubs legend.
Michael Darragh joins us in studio today to talk about his new job as CEO of Sanctuary Runners, a group that uses running as a way to bring together asylum seekers, refugees, migrants and all Irish residents, with the aim of creating a more inclusive, integrated and equal society. We chat about why he is passionate about this topic, what the group is trying to do and the challenges the country faces with immigration, misinformation, and fear.
Chelsea continue to astound and amuse, and it’s got the Second Captains mailbag a rustlin’.
It was revealed yesterday evening that Jannik Sinner, world number 1 and one of the favourites for Monday’s US Open, failed two drugs tests earlier this year, but has escaped a drugs ban. Sinner’s explanation for his two positive tests for Clostebol centred on a healing spray that had been used to treat a cut suffered by his physio, Giacomo Naldi. We examine tennis’ watery record on doping and upholding doping bans, especially for the bigger names in the sport.
I got into the investigative spirit here, and tracked this man’s left pinky finger throughout Indian Wells 2024.
This bandage during the third round match on March 10, the day of Sinner’s first positive test, is an outlier; every other match, Naldi’s finger was bare, as stated. https://t.co/scdqGOvPpu pic.twitter.com/FSkqE4LD7X
