Episode 899: Clare’s Twin Brothers In Arms, Boozy Team Bonding In Queenstown, New Zealand – Scalpel Or Sledgehammer?
The Cleary family of Milltown Malbay in West Clare have a busy weekend ahead of them. Eoin Cleary is corner-forward and top scorer for the footballers as they welcome Mayo to Ennis for a huge Round 3 qualifier on Saturday evening, and his twin brother Conor has a Munster hurling final to look forward to on Sunday.
Eoin joins us on the line to talk about sibling rivalry, how Clare have managed to keep up their impressive momentum, and vying for personal awards with James O’Donoghue and Aidan O’Shea.
And as the build-up to what will be a worryingly seismic third Lions test continues, we speak to New Zealand broadcaster and journalist Jim Kayes about the All Blacks’ ‘dark intent’, how insularity can hurt New Zealand, and why they’re shaking their heads at Sean O’Brien’s availability for Saturday morning.
Plus there’s Willie Clancy week, booze, sweet oblivion, and Mike Ashley.
