Peter Canavan was one of the greatest Gaelic footballers of all time – tough as nails, quick, accurate, brave. Watching his two sons, Darragh and Ruairi, tear Dr Crokes apart for their club Errigal Ciarán in the All-Ireland club football semi-final last Saturday evening, you could be forgiven for thinking you’d been transported back in time to an alternate universe where Tyrone GAA, in their endless quest for an edge, had managed to clone their greatest ever player.

Oisin McConville is on the show to talk to us about the joys and struggles of playing with your brother, why Croke Park will suit them even more, and why Cuala (and their own set of brothers up front, the O’Callaghans) will be a tough nut to crack.

There’s also Michael Murphy’s re-invention as a goalkeeper, and we talk about Arne Slot’s about-turn on Nottingham Forest, as plucky underdog Liverpool go to take on the midlands behemoth in the City Ground tonight.
