Episode 922: Richie Hogan On Career-Life-Sport Balance And What Went Wrong In 2017, Farewell To The Mooch

Kilkenny were knocked out of this year’s All-Ireland hurling championship on July 8th, the earliest they’ve ever been out of the running for the Liam McCarthy Cup under Brian Cody.

Today we welcome into studio the 2014 Hurler of the Year, one of the most gifted players of his generation, and one of Kilkenny’s key men for almost 10 years, Richie Hogan…. and ask him what he’s been doing with all his free time.

It was a tough year for him personally, and for the team, but he tells us about leaving teaching behind, why hurling is what he’ll be remembered for, and he gently reminds us that similar things were being written and said in 2013, and Kilkenny won the next two All-Irelands.
