Chris Froome’s career appears to be in tatters after returning a failed drugs test during his victory in the Vuelta in September, a joint investigation by the Guardian and Le Monde revealed this morning.
This could really harm Froome’s chances of finishing 9th in Sports Personality of the Year.

Author and journalist Jeremy Whittle joins us to talk about the extent to which Team Sky should still be given the benefit of the doubt (not much, as it turns out), and we discuss just how it is that having debilitating illnesses appears to be no impediment to Sky riders winning important cycling races.
Maybe it’s just me but there’s some baffling characteristics to the Froome salbutamol case: 1) why it took so long to come out, 2) why he was at that level anyway knowing the likely circumstances and 3) just how ‘retro’ a product it is.
