Episode 1278: How “Golf Digest” Solved A Murder, The Man Who Served 27 Years For A Crime He Didn’t Commit, Connacht’s Temple Of Muldoon, Lotta Hatred Building In Leinster, Second Round
It’s the start of the Ryder Cup, and today’s podcast is about golf, in a sense – but it’s also about a murder at a Buffalo street corner in 1991, the man wrongly convicted of that crime, and the path he took which ended with him walking free from a courtroom last Wednesday.
After 27 years in prison, Valentino Dixon walked free today. With an investigation Golf Digest’s Max Adler helped open, an Erie County court vacated Dixon’s murder conviction. Adler was there to greet Dixon as he left the courthouse.

That man’s name was Valentino Dixon, and the journalist who first brought his story to national attention was Golf Digest’s Max Adler, who we speak to on the show today. Where golf fits into this man’s life, how he is now, and the story of how the man who did in fact commit the crime admitted his guilt, are all in the mix too in this outrageous story.
In other news – rugby’s first inter-pros are on this weekend, and all of a sudden Connacht/Leinster is the world’s biggest grudge match thanks to John Muldoon, Cian Healy, Luke Fitzgerald and the whole of Galway ag gáire.
